Snowy Win7 Port by Satukoro Snowy Win7 Port by Satukoro
Snowy port to Windows 7
--
Original: Snowy VS for Vista by =soiaa
Sorry for the delay.
--
System files will only work in Windows 7 64bit. If anyone wants to port the explorerframe.dll and explorer.exe to x86, it would be greatly appreciated.

Update: In order to correct the weird font look, go to Control Panel > System and Security > System > Advanced System Settings > (under performance) click Settings > and un-check Smooth Edges of On-Screen Fonts

Updated to include fonts.

The name of the wallpaper is
ya MUHAMMAD Vista Background

You'll have to email the owner to get the non-text version however. :/

Just curious... I just switched to Windows 7 and I have changed my themes in Vista before by going into Windows>Resources>Themes etc. and also imported a modified explorer.dll file to a certain folder in Windows. So I've done this before.

Problem is, I don't remember how and I especially don't know how to do so in Windows 7. Could someone give me detailed instructions on how to do this correctly? What do I do with the explorerframe.dll and explorer application? I already put the Snowy folder and theme file in Themes. What else?

It could be because you're version of explorer is a lot newer than when this was made.

you need to take the ownership of that file for modifications. to see how to do this visit:
[link]

after taking ownership of the file, rename it as explorercopy.exe and explorerframecopy.dll and then place the new one in their respected folders.

ok.. there is a problem with this theme. the jumplist fonts are transparent.
they become absolutely difficult to read when there is a white background behind them or a white windows explorer open behind them.
can you change the fonts to black colour in the jumplists?

also can you fix the hidden bar in explorer... you know the one with the views, new folder button, organize button , etc.
everytime I try to hover on that thing, it rapidly hides and unhides until windows explorer becomes unresponsive.
it would be nice if you can make a version without that bar set to hide.

just fyi, this isn't meant to be a diss or anything. im just reporting a usability issue since it is hindering my ability to fully enjoy this theme. its a very good port btw. thanks for doing that!

the port is very good, it's just the preview what's not very advantageous, the wallpaper is horrible, this vs is smooth and minimal, it needs something that shines through like in the preview of the original by soiaa, it needs small windows for that cute font, hide the statusbar and resize the window as far as it's possible or something like that. i'm sure it was a lot of work to make this port so if you really want that more people see it and give it a chance, do something with the preview dude ;)

Like I said, I need someone to either port the system files or send me a link to a .zip of the x86 ones. If you want to upload them to mediafire or something, then I can update this.

:icondarthvegan:

I wouldn't have them seeing as how I don't know how to skin very well at all and I wouldn't know how to convert them. :/ If I happen to find them though, I'll let you know.

If you're running on x86, just copy "C:\Windows\Explorer.exe" and "C:\Windows\System32\Explorerframe.dll" to your desktop and then put them in a .zip or .rar

When that's done, upload the compressed file to mediafire.com and send me a link.

The fact that his account has been deactivated doesn't change that it's his work. Also, just because his account has been deactivated doesn't mean he isn't still an active DeviantART member.
