Yeah, Aero would be really nice. All the Basic Versions are missing the search field in the startmenu, making them useless to me.

True, aside of that Basic styles somewhat affect DWM in a way, makes me feel I'm running XP with no video acceleration at all! Aero is just clearer.

I know, but its not the way to go. It's not the authors fault (seems to be a limitation of Basic). But as ksaad said, it feels dated and and most of the Vista users presumably want to use Aero anyway.
